He love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Spirit of God dwelling within us.

 

First Reading: Philippians 4:4-9   (No. 740(10) on Pg 1998)

A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians

Brothers and sisters:
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
Let all people know your forbearance.
The Lord is at hand.
Have no anxiety about anything,
but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding,
will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters,
whatever is true, whatever is honourable,
whatever is just, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious,
if there is any excellence,
if there is anything worthy of praise,
think about these things.
What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, do; and the God of peace will be with you.”

R/. I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
from all my terrors he set me free.

I will bless the Lord at all times;
praise of him is always in my mouth.

together let us praise his name.

Look toward him and be radiant;
let your faces not be abashed.

At that time:
Jesus said, “I do not pray for these only,
but also for those who believe in me through their word,
that they may all be one;
even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you,
that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
The glory which you have given me
I have given to them,
that they may be one even as we are one,
I in them and you in me,
that they may become perfectly one,
so that the world may know that you have sent me
and have loved them even as you have loved me.
Father, I desire that they also,
who you have given me,
may be with me where I am,
to behold my glory which you have given me
in your love for me before the foundation of the world.
O righteous Father,
the world has not known you,
but I have known you;
and these know that you have sent me.
I made known to them your name,
and I will make it known,
that the love with which you have loved me may be in them,
and I in them.”
