21/11/2022 Day 325

Memorial of  The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Readings on p. 1819 and Antiphons on p. 1862 (CBVM 1)  of the Daily Missal.

First Reading: Zechariah 2: 10-13

A reading from the Book of Zechariah.

Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Sion;
for behold, I come and I will dwell in the midst of you,
says the Lord.
And many nations shall join themselves to the Lord in that day,
and shall be my people;
and I will dwell in the midst of you,
and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.
And the Lord will inherit Judah
as his portion in the holy land,
and will again choose Jerusalem.”

Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord;
for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.

The Word of the Lord.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 132: 11, 13-14,17-18

Let us now pray the Responsorial Psalm:

R/. He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.

My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour.

For he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden.
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.

And his mercy is on those who fear him
from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm,
he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and exalted those of low degree;
he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent empty away.

He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his posterity for ever.

R/. He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.

Alleluia, Alleluia.
Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.
Alleluia.

Gospel: Matthew 12: 46-50

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.

At that time:

While he was still speaking to the people,
behold, his mother and his brothers and sisters stood outside,
asking to speak to him.
But he replied to the man who told him,
“Who is my mother, and who are my brothers and sisters?”
And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said,
“Here are my mother and my brothers and sisters!
For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven
is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

The Gospel of the Lord.
