We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view; wherever they are in the world.

What is Alpha? 

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, typically run over eleven weeks. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome. Usually, Alpha includes food, a talk and good conversation. During this time of social distancing, we can’t offer food – but the talk and good conversation still work great over video chat!

Alpha Online…

As the Covid-19 outbreak affects patterns of daily life, our Parish has a crucial part to play. In the face of increasing isolation and decreasing mobility, how can we promote togetherness and continue to share the good news of Jesus? 

We’re encouraged by examples around the world of churches finding creative solutions for continuing to run Alpha digitally and we would encourage you to join us and invite your family, friends and colleagues.

First up… you will log into you small group via a Zoom Link you receive before your Alpha starts.

Then… you watch a talk based on the topic of that session. 

After… you get to share your thoughts, feelings, ideas and questions with the rest of the guests in your small group

Who will YOU invite? 

Jesus CALLS us to GO and make Disciples. After His resurrection, he emphasises that this is what He requires of His disciples. 

In the teaching of the Second Vatican Council, Pope Paul described EVANGELISATION as the church’s deepest Identity and Mission. He said that “The Church Exists to Evangelise”. This is reiterated by the Catholic Department of Evangelisation. And Alpha is recommended as a means to Evangelise.
