A thought for the week

“Do not fear what may happen tomorrow. The same loving Father who cares for you today will care for you tomorrow and every day.
Either he will shield you form suffering, or he will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace, then, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginings.”

~St Francis de Sales

Pope Leo’s Intentions for August
For mutual coexistence

Let us pray that societies, where coexistence seems more difficult, might not succumb to the temptation of confrontation for ethnic, political, religious, or ideological reasons.

Refurbishment of sanctuary chairs

In accord with the refurbishment of the pews within the church and a request from Father Joe, the Presider’s chair and accompanying chairs, as well as the altar server kneelers, have been reupholstered. This is in keeping with the beauty of the Sanctuary and the reverence our congregation places on the altar, a place of meeting with our Lord and Saviour.

A great vote of thanks is due to those who have contributed to this special project. If there is anyone still wishing to contribute, your donations would be most welcome.

VOCATION REFLECTIONS

Grow rich in the sight of the Lord. Pray to know God’s will. (Luke 12:13-21)

A Prayer for Peace

Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the true King of peace.
In You alone is found freedom.

Help us to free our world from conflict.
Bring unity to troubled nations.
Let Your glorious peace reign in every heart.

Dispel all darkness and evil.
Protect the dignity of every human life.
Replace hatred with Your love.

Give wisdom to world leaders.
Free them from selfish ambition.
Guide leaders and nations to work
toward lasting peace and stability.

We make our prayer in your name,
who with the Father and the Holy Spirit
live and reign, one God forever and ever.   AMEN.
