On behalf of the CWL we would like to express our gratitude to all parishioners who supported us with donations, food and entertainment. Thank you for taking the time to make the Heritage Day a success, it wouldn’t have been possible without you. Our charities will greatly benefit from all the proceeds made. We are only the CWL because of you and for that we are thankful.

The SSVP Diepsloot Design Crochet Group have learned to crochet, and their items will be on display and for sale this weekend 30 Sep/01 Oct in the Emmaus Hall, after Masses. The 11 ladies are part of the SSVP philosophy – “give a hand up, not a handout”. Some of them are gogos supporting grandchildren & others are single mothers doing their best. Your support is greatly appreciated. May God bless your generosity.

VOCATION REFLECTION:

Jesus emptied himself and took the form of a slave. Am I willing to empty myself to follow the Lord? Consider a call to priesthood or religious life.

(Philippians 2:1-11)

PRAYER FOR PEACE IN SOUTHERN AFRICA:
O God of justice and love,
bless us the people of Southern Africa
and help us to live in your peace.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me sow love;
where there is injury let me sow pardon;
where there is discord let me sow harmony.
Divine master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be understood, as to understand,
to be loved as to love,
to receive sympathy as to give it.
For it is in giving that we shall receive,
in pardoning that we shall be pardoned,
in forgetting ourselves that we shall find unending peace with others.

We ask this through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.
