VOCATION REFLECTION:

Having a loose grasp on those people and things that rightly belong to God is required of every follower. The open hands you are left with will be filled to overflowing by God. Can you let go? (Luke 14:25-33)

Alpha Online: Alpha started last Tuesday, 30 August, but there are still a few spaces available so if you would still like to join in, we would love to see you. The course is running on Zoom on Tuesday at 19h30. Email us on alphabryanstoncc@gmail.com if you or a friend, a work colleague or family member would still like to join us.

Congratulations to: Liam, son of David and Caitlin Wood; Joshan, son of Hunsa Akoobhai; Payton, daughter of Darren and Simone Thomas; Lethabo, son of Lekhowe and Refilwe Pudieng; Ayden, son of Brenton and Cari-Ann Forson; and Tshepang, daughter of Andrew and Ipeleng Mothibi who were baptised last week.

PRAYER FOR OUR EARTH:

All powerful God, you are present in the universe and in the smallest of your creatures. You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty. Fill us with your peace, that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one. O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth, so precious in your eyes. Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not harm it, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction. Touch the hearts of those who look only for gain at the expense of the poor and the earth. Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe and contemplation, to recognize that we are profoundly united with every creature as we journey towards your infinite light. We thank you for being with us each day. Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle, for justice, love and peace. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
